John Scupelliti from Brooklyn, NY started singing with several groups before he formed The Reactions in 1962. The group recorded “Our Wonderful Love” and “That Girl” which was released in 1964 on the Mutual Record label. The group’s members now are Charlie Schaffner who sang with the Wrenditions and is now the first tenor of the Reactions. John Foster, also, was a member of the famed Wrenditions and is now the second tenor of the Reactions. Phil Block started singing with various street corner groups and is now the baritone of the Reactions.
The Fireflies formed back in 1959 with original member Paul Giacalone, who wrote their top 40 hit, “You Were Mine” along with a follow up hit “I Can’t Say Goodbye.” After Paul’s death in 2013, the band still continues to tour and appear on many of the oldies shows throughout the Tri-State area. The members of the group consists of three native Staten Islanders, John Savoca, performs as second tenor, Vic Puma performs as first tenor, Nicky Catello, will sing background and some leads, and the beautiful voice of Marco Gueli Jr, is the lead singer of the group.
The Vogues are an American vocal group from Pennsylvania. They are best known for their chart-topping singles "You're the One", "Five O'Clock World," "Magic Town," and "Turn Around, Look at Me." The Vogues' current line-up is Troy Elich, Royce Taylor, and Bo Wagner. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. Being dubbed as “Mr Entertainment,” Bobby Brooks Wilson is the son of Legendary R&B/Soul Singer, Jackie Wilson. Bobby has the same amazing traits and talents of his father, which many say Jackie Wilson’s legacy lives on through him. Bobby has entertained fans all over the world and will continue to soar as a singer, an entertainer and an artist.
Closing the show are The Duprees who are one of the most outstanding vocal harmonies, serenading audiences with the best love songs ever written. It was over 50 years ago their “You Belong to Me” became a national hit. This was followed by numerous other doo wop favorites that captivated their listeners. Tony Testa as the emcee for the Duprees adds charm to their already charming performance. Tommy Petillo’s impressively smooth voice is the quintessence of the Duprees. Jimmy Spinelli along with Phil Granito brings their unique energy for a memorable show.
